Charles Augustus Fuess Family

This is the earliest known photo of the Fuess Family. It was taken in Cuero, De Witt County, Texas. Judging the age of Hazel AnitaFuess to be about 6 to 7 years old and Raymond Lee to be about one, then the photo was taken in 1931-1932. Charles Agustus Fuess immigrated to the US in the late 1800's from Hertzberg Germany. Little is known of his origins beyond that. His wife, Martha Ella (Finck) Fuess, has a rich history in the US and can be traced back through Andrew Acker FINCK, a Major in the Revolutionary War, to Andrew "Andreas" FINCK born 1751 in Stone Arabia, New York.
